Year-end report

The PDF and CSV Gluten Hero produces from a full year of logged items, travel, and medical expenses. The PDF is the document you hand to your CPA or tax professional. The CSV is the same data in a spreadsheet-friendly layout.

The year-end report is the PDF and CSV Gluten Hero produces from a full year of logged items, travel, and medical expenses. It is the document a household hands to a CPA or tax professional at the end of the year. It is also the third link in the substantiation chain (diagnosis, prescribed-diet instruction, receipts).

The PDF is structured to be read cold by a tax professional who does not know Gluten Hero. The sections, in order: header with the household's name, the tax year, and the diagnosis-attestation date; a summary line with the GF premium total and the category breakdown; an items appendix grouped by category; a medical travel appendix with the IRS medical mileage rate applied; a medical-expenses appendix; and the disclaimer block at the end. The PDF is paginated and printable.

The CSV is the same data in a flat spreadsheet, one row per item, one sheet for items and one for the rollups. It is the format a tax-prep system can ingest directly, and the format a tax professional can re-pivot to answer a specific question.

The report is generated from the Reports tab on Gluten Hero. The Tax Year pill at the top sets which year the report covers. The Download PDF Report and Export CSV Report buttons produce the files on the spot; the Share Report button emails them to a CPA or tax professional.

The report is hidden until the diagnosis attestation toggle is on. The math will not run on a household that has not affirmed the diagnosis chain.

For the workflow of handing the report off, read Handing off your report to your CPA or tax professional.
